Seeds germinate best after a cold treatment. Place the packet in a freezer for 2 to 4 weeks. Allow to warm up slowly

• Sow late February onwards in trays or posts and cover seed very lightly
• Keep moist and in semi shade at 18°C
• Once plants have their second set of true leaves thin them out to a spacing of 10cms and then, when large enough, plant in the garden. Remember to acclimatise them to the outdoors
• DO NOT plant strawberries where potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, aubergine or raspberries have been grown within three years.
