Zinnia are always a firm favourite, this one possible more than most due to its interestingly spikey flowers of huge proportions on plants reaching 60-90cm. • Sow thinly undercover 4-6 weeks before your last expected frost.
• Cover lightly and keep moist
• Can also be sown outdoors in well drained through to early summer
• Protect seedlings from protection and a warm site
• Days to germination: 5-10
• When large enough to handle transplant to 7cm pots and grow on under cooler conditions
• Pinch back young plants for a bushier growth habit
• Feed monthly and dead head to prolong flowering period
