Its Latin name of Scabiosa Atropurpurea may sound like a Hogwarts spell but this is a firm favourite for the cottage garden. As the common name suggests this compact plant develops pin cushion like blooms on sturdy stems. Has a wonderful fragrance, attractive to our bees and butterflies, and other pollinators.
