- Best if sown direct in drills from March to May but can be sown in trays
- Thrives in full sun in well-drained soil
- Rake soil to a fine tilth and scatter very thinly. Only cover very lightly
- Water regularly
- When large enough to handle transplant to flowering site 15-20cm apart
