Now for something complete different. Celtuce is often referred to as Stem Lettuce or Chinese Lettuce, This great vegetable combines the uses of both lettuce and celery. • Sow seeds undercover September to March or directly outside March to August
• Sow seeds 6 to 7mm deep. Keep the seed compost moist and use a propagator or a warm windowsill
• Minimum temperature: 4-16°C
• Germination will be poor at above 20°C
• Days to germination: 7-14
• Days to maturity: 70-80
• Light: Full sun
• Thin to 20cm and enjoy the thinnings
• Plant spacing: 20cm
