• Start indoors in a warm, well-lit area from February through to late April for an early crop or directly outside from early April to early June
• Sow 6mm deep in good compost, lightly covered with soil
• Days to Germination: 5-8
• Optimum temperature: 21°C
• Transplant the seedlings before they are 5 weeks old two to three weeks before your last expected frost. Harvest from June to September
• Set plants 30-45cm apart in rows 60cm apart
• These need high fertility and an abundance of water throughout the growing season
