• Prepare the bed well to ensure it is clear of lumps and stones to a good depth
• Avoid freshly manured areas
• Sow thinly
• Sowing depth: 1cm
• Row spacing: 30-40cm
• Thin to 16-20 carrots per 30cm for fresh eating and 6-10 carrots per 30cm for mature main crop
• Ensure roots are well covered to avoid green shoulder
