• Sow outdoors to take advantage of natural cold stratification which will enhance germination. If sowing indoors refrigerate the seeds for 4 to 6 weeks.
• Prepare a moist, well-draining bed, enriched with compost or organic matter. If sowing indoors use a high-quality seed compost.
• Thinly scatter the seeds and gently press to the soil. Do not cover as light is required for germination. Water gently with a mist or watering can but take care not to displace the seed. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
• Germination can be slow, often taking 6-12 months so be patient.
• Optimum temperature: 15-20°C for indoor germination
• Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle, at 12 to 18 months
• Spacing: 10-15cm where they will naturally spread and self-seed
• FLOWERS 2-3 YEARS FROM SOWING BUT ONCE ESTABLISHED WILL RETURN AND MULTIPLY YEAR AFTER YEAR.
