This variety produces large flower heads with solid hearts. Easy to grow and are attractive enough to give an interesting twist to ornamental gardening as well as good to eat. Plants will grow to 1.8m in height and will produce the first year but it is better to cut to ground level, mulch over winter to protect the crown, and then harvest in the second year. Perennial.  Sow under cover with warmth from late winter to early spring at a depth of 2-3cm 2 seeds per pot

• Harvest April to July in the second season when buds are 6-10cm in diameter
• Once harvested snap off stem at the base unless there are secondary heads, if so cut off the terminal bud with a short piece of stem to stimulate the secondary shoots to encourage a second crop
